SFI får besøg af Kamal Lamichhane, den første synshandicappede nepaleser
der har fået en phd i disability studies.Kamal Lamichhane holder en åben
forelæsning på SFI om sine undersøgelser af situationen for mennesker med
handicap i Nepal, samt om disability studies i Japan.

Kamal Lamichhane earned his Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo. He is the only person with a visual impairment in Nepal to earn
a Ph.D. Lamichhane earned his Master's degree in Special Education at the University of Tsukuba in Japan and his Bachelor's
degree in Education from Tribhuwan University, in Nepal. He was fellow in-residence at Burton Blatt Institute (BBI), Syracuse
University, USA in 2010. With a certificate in appreciative inquiry from Weatherhead School of management, Case Western
Reserve University USA, he has been involved in promoting leadership and positive organizational development in both Nepal
and Japan. He is a postdoctoral fellow of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) at the graduate school of economics
of the University of Tokyo for 2 years since 2010 April. His research interests include: disability, education and employment;
disability and economics; Disability and human rights in the developing world; Disability, diversity and social exclusion; Disability,
identity & social change; Ability, disability & social stigma; Disability and inclusive education.
